This activity helps to get different perspectives on the questions we presented. I appreciate this concept because it allows us to think about about our own question via another avenue. I could see how this could be beneficial in my science class. I was thinking I could use this method when students are trying to generate a problem for their science fair project.
I can even see the value in posing questions ahead of class and then having the students going around the room and answering. Some questions might be like, "What do you think will happen when..." or "Which stance on X topic do you argue with and why." A spin off of this assignment that may help with classroom discussions.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Lynn. I'm thinking this would work really well with my writing students at Hocking - especially the reluctant writers who always think they have bad ideas.
