discussions about palmer

Enjoyed these discussions. One point I wanted to make is that our schools are designed for all of our students to learn at a certain age yet we are all different in the time in which we can learn certain things. I wish the people that make decisions about education would consider this instead of making education out to be a fortune 500 company.

  1. I understand developmental issues pretty well. Good point.

  2. I think one of the things you do well is to see the students as individuals, and not as a company. You do a great job with that.

  3. We touched on this topic too. Businesses seem to have two successful paradigms: quota based and the social Facebook creative based. As schools we have continued to use a qualitative, quota based principle, but when we reduce kids to numbers, what does that do to their education and self worth? You can't apply a true business model to a school because you are working with children. A factory line maintains conformity to achieve a product, kid's educational process cannot be conformed into a factory line where they all learn the same way.
